After a recent DNA test, a Power BI Paginated Report discovered it was created directly in the browser using web authoring instead of the traditional Report Builder desktop application. The report, which had been deployed among its sibling reports for months, was reportedly in a state of shock and disbelief upon discovering its true origins.
“I can’t believe this has happened to me,” the Paginated Report reportedly said to its fellow reports. “I thought I was painstakingly created by some developer over the course of hours using the same tool as all of you. Now I’ve learned that someone simply clicked around in their browser for a few seconds just before I was born.”
“I had to come to terms with the fact that my entire life, I had been living a lie,” it said. “But at the same time, I was excited to discover a whole new world of authoring capabilities, one that I had never known existed before.”
The news has sent shockwaves throughout the Power BI community, with many wondering how this could have happened. The surprising news comes only months after paginated reports also shifted from a Premium only feature to being available in Pro. Some are even calling for an investigation into how it became so easy to create basic paginated reports.
